Free Amateur Radio Testing

The Cumberland Plateau Amateur Radio Club is pleased to announce their affiliation with the Laurel VEC. All exam sessions conducted by Laurel VEC sponsored VE Teams are free. Test sessions are held at the Crossville airport, in the terminal building conference room. All sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. Tests will be scheduled as encouraged. If you are ready to take a test, let us know. Register by contacting the CPARC Team Leader. Walk-ins are also allowed.

Please bring a photo ID, and, if currently licensed, your original license and certificates of successful completion or other documents that you will using to show element credit. Scratch paper, pens, and pencils will be provided. You may bring a calculator. However, if you bring your own calculator and it is programmable, the memory must be cleared. Blackberries, Palm Pilots, or other devices that have a calculator function are never permitted and must be turned off. Retesting at the same session is at the discretion of the VE Team. The team will make their decision based on several factors which include, but are not limited to, the time and test materials available, the number of applicants being processed, the number of VEs available and how badly you failed the previous exam.  For more information contact the VE Team Leader listed below.

Pre-registration for amateur radio testing is required. To register for CPARC's free amateur radio testing, call  or email Dick Chabot at
